🐝 On 2/3, 5th grader, Brynn Moody, and 8th grader, Brianna Big Back, competed in the Scripts Regional Spelling Bee. This 22nd annual Spelling Bee was sponsored by the Daily Star and held at the Goodrich Theater, SUNY Oneonta. They qualified for this competition by winning the SKCS local spelling bee. Congratulations on a great performance!! 🐝









SK student, Lukas Vasilakis, is spending the year in Jordan via the study abroad program yes-abroad.org. Recently, he was able to Zoom with the senior Participation In Government classes and share his experiences!!


On 2/2, SK presents celebrated late January birthdays and learned about heart health!

On 1/31, SK honored Joann Perry for her many, many years (no one kept track of how many!!) of keeping the scorebook for the SK basketball teams!! She started while attending high school at SK, gave it up while in college then started again when she moved back to SK. She will be closing the book on this chapter at the end of the season so she can watch her grandchildren play. Thank you, Joann!!! 💙





On 1/31, SK honored its Varsity boys and girl basketball players and cheerleaders. Thank you seniors for all your years of dedicated play and cheering at SK!!! You will be missed!

On 1/26, the elementary PE classes wrapped up their gymnastics unit with a gymnastics show for the older grades. Great job!!










On 1/19, SK’s 6th grade students researched and dressed up as famous scientists and inventors in SK’s first “wax museum”.

The Daily Star is doing their Salute to Seniors section again this year and are currently accepting submissions.
Parents/guardians can fill these out at the following link: https://www.thedailystar.com/salute.
Submissions should be in by March 3rd but anything sent by the 8th or 9th should be able to get into the section. The section is scheduled to be published on Wednesday, March 20th.
A reminder that anyone submitting photos that require a photographer credit need to make sure they have the permission of said photographer (for example they can’t use any photos from the Walton Reporter or Ben Patton).
