Students in grades 7th through 12th attended a presentation by John Perricone entitled Suicide Prevention. The students learned about signs that may indicate a friend is thinking about suicide and how to get the friend help from adults here at school or in the community. They also learned that there is now a national phone number, for calls or texts, available to all ages. There are caring adults who can provide support to those who are thinking about suicide for yourself or for a friend. That number is 988. It was a powerful message and the student response was positive.
