The SK Environmental Club invited area schools to participate in a Climate and Environmental Education Hike. Students from Charlotte Valley, Delhi, Jefferson and Stamford participated. The climate leaders from South Kortright led groups up to the top of Bramley Mountain (elevation 2817') while leading conversations about climate solutions, climate justice and waste management in our area. South Kortright students also led team building activities and created a scavenger hunt for the students to complete during their hike. The SK Environmental Club provided snacks and environmentally themed prizes for completing the scavenger hunt. Each school began discussing and creating their climate action plan to bring back to their school. A climate action plan is a way to initiate a change they want to see in their school or community. It was a great day of conversation and collaboration around climate and the environment. We are proud of the SK Climate Leaders for their hard work and dedication! Environmental Club members include Elsa Marigliano, Kiersten Hobbie, Kylie Gregory, Neleh Brown, Alyssa Tucker, Emma Sicari, Aurelia Comer, Charleigh Brown

SK Seniors will be raising money for Operation Gratitude https://www.operationgratitude.com/ as part of a class project. "Selfie with a Senior" will be taken next Tuesday and Wednesday. Forms were sent home with PreK-6 students. In addition, there will be jars in Harbaugh Hall, each with a different senior on it. Whichever senior has the most money in their jar by Thursday afternoon will get a pie in the face on Friday. The seniors who will have buckets are: Paige Anderson, Damon Pietrantoni, Connor Quirino, Darren Dengler, Jacob Staroba, and Hannah Collins. The funds we raise will be dedicated to the veterans at this year's Veterans Day Assembly on November 9th (assembly starts at 2 PM).
